Holiday Destinations: Elephant Rock in Heimaey Iceland

The Elephant Rock is a natural rock formation found on the island of Heimaey (meaning Home Island) in Iceland’s Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. With around 4,500 residents Heimaey is the most populated island of Iceland and is the only populated island of the Vestmannaeyjar chain.

The 660 feet high volcano could potentially be the reason of the Elephant Rock and many other formations like it around the island. The volcano is known to explode without warning, forcing the inhabitants of the island to act fast with strategy that use sea water to rapidly cool the moving lava before it can change their home too significantly, destroy the town, or potentially hurt anyone.

A scenario such as this could have been the cause of the massive rock that happened to be shaped just like an elephant. You can visit Heimaey and the other Vestmannaeyjar islands by ferry, and all have hiking trails available including some leading to Eldfell.

If this destination is officially on your travel bucket list, be sure to go during the summer for even more fun animal opportunities.

There are lots of things to see and do like world-class events, big shopping centers and some of Australia’s best dining experience over there.

There are numbers of best places are located in Sydney which you can’t see on a short tour, so that’s why I am going to share the best places which are must see whenever you travel to Sydney.

The Sydney Opera House

Your tour is not complete to Sydney until and unless you can’t see this famous place of it. The Opera House can be found on Sydney Harbour's Bennelong Point at the northeastern tip of the Sydney CBD and is surrounded on three sides by the harbour, and is frequently seen in pictures and postcards along with the nearby Sydney Harbour Bridge, both of which usually combine to provide an overall representation of the Sydney Harbour panorama.

Jenolan Caves is pretty good and perfect for a family weekend outing or holiday activity, passes are available that provide admission to any show cave tour of your choice including the Chifley, majestic, Orient, Lucas, Temple of Baal, Imperial-Diamond and River caves that are all abundant in impressive calcite formations of both stalactites and stalagmites which sometimes approach a beautiful, pearly-white color and are amazing to see.

Sydney Aquarium

Sydney Aquarium is one of the best places to see and explore the real beauty under the sea. An underwater adventure in which you'll be able to walk and explore the rich and varied aquatic life and habitats of Australia's ocean-dwelling animals, Sydney Aquarium is located in a suitable location near Sydney Harbour's Circular Quay making accessing it a breeze due to all the available transport options.

National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum in Sydney has so many outstanding displays being displayed in such an impressive manner that people of all point of views are likely to find it a highly worthwhile investment of time while in Sydney. As can be assumed from its name, the museum details the history of the nautical stories of Australia as a whole and Sydney specifically ranging back from the arrival of the first settlers through to the various military actions that the Australian navy has been occupied in throughout the course of their existence.

Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is one of Australia's most famous beaches and well-known worldwide. Each year tens of thousands of people, from backpackers to billionaires, take to the golden sands of this wide, one-kilometre long city beach expanse to walk, jog, or just soak up the sun. Holiday Destinations: Phi Phi Island (Thailand)

As we all know that Thailand is one of the most promising places for tourists who are willing to go there especially for honeymoon holidays. Phi Phi Island is one of the best holiday destinations in Thailand where people throng from all over the world especially in summer season.

Phi Phi's beauty is a large piece of the attraction. The islands, when approached by boat, rise from the sea like a fortress. Sheer cliffs tower overhead, and then give way to beach-fronted jungle. It's love at first sight.

The second part of the why-we-love-this-place story is attitude: few places on the planet are this laid-back. Of the two islands, one is completely free of human inhabitants (Phi Phi Leh), and the other is without roads (Phi Phi Don). There's no schedule, no hustle-and-bustle, no reason to be in a hurry.
